Bovis Lend Lease and the property arm of Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli Group have formed a joint venture to carry out construction management and project management services in Italy.
The agreement with Pirelli was signed last month and the two firms are soon to decide on a project.
A spokesperson for Bovis Lend Lease said: "What attracted Pirelli was the certainty of delivery with construction management and project management routes." Bovis Lend Lease is currently looking for a local partner to bid for a public–private partnership hospital in Brescia, near Milan.
The firm will start work in May on a £34m, 33,000 m2 plasterboard manufacturing plant in Termoli for a local subsidiary of BPB. The plant is due for completion in June 2002.
Bovis Lend Lease opened its 25-strong office in Milan last year.
