BRE joins forces with the education bodies in Limerick to establish BRE Ireland

BRE and partners the University of Limerick (UL) and Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) have established a new body BRE Ireland.

The new venture will focus on innovation and enterprise in Irish construction.

Guy Hammersley, chairman of BRE Ireland, said: "We plan, along with our Irish partners, to provide a range of services to the hugely prolific Irish construction industry that have become so important as the industry strives to build and refurbish in a more sustainable way."BRE Ireland aims to do the following:

  • Provide consultancy services to the Irish construction industry specifically in sustainability
  • Deliver third party approval and certification services
  • Seek to play a role in government initiatives on sustainable development or innovation
  • Participate in strategic research
  • Provide training and education to promote awareness of sustainability
  • Seek to collaborate with partners from across industry and academia in Ireland
