The winners of the Building Performance Awards, organised by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), were announced at a ceremony last night.

Consultant Sustainable Design Solutions and Marks & Spencer were awarded the overall accolade for their commitment to improving building performance and reduction of energy consumption at the retailer’s Cheshire Oaks store (pictured), which also won in the category of New Build Project of the Year (value over £10m).

The International Project of the Year award went to engineer Atelier Ten for its designs for the Gardens by the Bay project in Singapore, which the judges described as a “well thought through, holistic engineering solution”.
