Bam Construct has begun construction on an £18m hotel for the University of Nottingham.

The scheme, designed by RHWL Architects, is a 200-bed building with two terracotta-clad bedroom blocks linked by a glazed reception and bar area. The hotel is set among a landscaped orchard.

The development is scheduled for completion in November 2012.
