Scheme includes new buildings to accommodate more than 1,500 pupils

The Department for Education (DfE) has selected Graham as its contractor for the redevelopment of The Castle Rock School in Leicestershire.

The £37m project in Coalville will see upgraded facilities across the existing secondary and sixth form campus, as well as the construction of a new two-storey school building.

Several old blocks will be demolished to make way for more modern accommodation for up to 1,550 pupils.

The scheme also includes new outdoor learning and play areas, a three-court multi-use games area  including the provision of new sports pitches.

“Creating inspiring, resilient and future-focused learning environments sits at the heart of what we do at GRAHAM,” said Lindsey Crabtree, education director at Graham.

“The Castle Rock School project is about supporting the school’s ambitions and improving the day-to-day experience for pupils and teachers, while ensuring that the estate is ready for the next generation of learners.”
