Polish subsidiary Ennbeton buys Bonitex, a quarry operator in north-west Poland

Building products group Ennstone has announced that its Polish subsidiary, Ennbeton has acquired 100 per cent of the issued share capital of Bonitex for about £1m.

Bonitex operates a quarry at Chelm Gorny, 50 miles to the south of Ennbeton's main market of Szczecin in north-west Poland.

The Chelm quarry includes 63 ha of land and has mineral reserves of about 10 million tonnes of sand and gravel, which will supply Ennstone’s concrete units and the external market.

Vaughan McLeod, Ennstone chairman, said “This is a very good quarry acquisition. With Moryn and the new quarries at Dobra and Chelm (Bonitex), we will now be able to supply all our concrete plants in the northern part of our region and have additional materials to supply the external market. This is a very good position to be in, in an expanding market.”
