The Bath Road site will get a new hotel and industrial units

EPR Architects and consultancy firm RPS have submitted plans to redevelop the Summit Centre at Heathrow airport.

The current industrial space will be replaced with 8,500sq m new units and a 5 storey, 301 bedroom hotel, and over two hundred trees will be planted as part of an extensive landscaping project.

The hotel will be built on the atrium model which EPR devised for the nearby Marriott, and will feature large bay windows to the bedrooms and a landscaped inner courtyard.

The industrial units will be self-contained and have a BREEAM rating of excellent.

The proposals were developed in consultation with the London Borough of Hillingdon and the Greater London Authority, and will go before the council’s planning committee in November 2011.
