James Barton starts next week having spent more than 30 years at business that was known as Davis Langdon
London cost consultant Exigere has brought in Aecom’s head of cost management at London and the South as a new partner.
James Barton, who starts at Exigere next week, spent more than three decades at Aecom joining the business in the mid-1990s, when it was known as Davis Langdon.
Exigere said his arrival will “strengthen [our] residential, tall building and mixed-use masterplanning offering”.

Barton’s clients have included Knight Dragon, Greystar, Ballymore, Berkeley Homes and Clarion while schemes he has worked on include Greenwich Peninsula, Battersea Power Station phase 3 and the Shard.
His arrival means he reunites with several former colleagues who left Aecom in 2012 to set up Exigere.
Barton said: “Having worked with a number of the Exigere partners before, I already know the calibre of people and the approach they bring to projects. What attracted me to the business was the opportunity to be part of an independent consultancy where I can make a real contribution to its future.”
Among the projects Exigere is currently working on are the Tenter House scheme in Moorgate and the Faryners House job that will be built close to the Monument.
