Full tribute from Gardiner & Theobald

Gardiner & Theobald is mourning the loss of its former Managing Partner, Peter Sanders, 67, who sadly passed away on 4th December 2012 after a short illness.

Peter joined the firm in 1968.  During his career as a Quantity Surveyor he worked on many high profile projects including Wood Green Shopping Centre, one of the first ‘big’ retail schemes in the UK, the Trocadero redevelopment at Piccadilly, the iconic 1930s Shell Mex House on the Strand and the London Stock Exchange, to name a few.

Peter became Managing Partner of Gardiner & Theobald in 2000 and held the post until his retirement in 2006 when the current Managing Partner, Simon Jones, took over the helm.  Peter remained in contact with the firm and with many of the management team, most recently coming to London HQ in April 2012 for a retirement party for another G&T partner.

Current and past members of the firm joined Peter’s family and friends for a memorial service to celebrate Peter’s life earlier this week.

Simon Jones, Managing Partner, commented, “Peter was a hugely valued and respected member of the firm for 38 years and remained a loyal supporter of G&T even after his retirement.  He will be sadly missed by those of us who were fortunate enough to have worked with him and known him.  We send our heart-felt condolences to his family at this very sad time.”
