Peter Lobban, chief executive of ConstructionSkills, is to retire after 10 years with the body.

It has also emerged that Peter Rogerson, the deputy chairman, is to leave in March.

Lobban said: “The organisation is now in a very good position to capitalise on some extremely exciting new opportunities and will, no doubt, continue to provide innovative and employer-led skills and training solutions for the construction industry for many years to come.

“After a hugely challenging but enjoyable time I am now looking forward to passing the baton to a new champion.”

Lobban is due to step down in August and recruitment for his position will begin next month.
