New Year’s honours list sees architects and housing association heads awarded OBE’s

Several heads of housing associations and architects were named in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list for their services to housing and architecture.

Recipients of honours included architects such as Allies and Morrison co-founders Graham Morrison and Bob Allies, who received OBEs, and Trevor Dannatt & Partners founder James Trevor Dannatt. Joanna van Heyningen, the co-founder of van Heyningen and Haward Architects, the practice behind the tomb marking the resting place of King Richard III, received an OBE.

Housing association recipients included Guinness Partnership group chief executive Simon Dow, who was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Sinead Butters, chief executive at Aspire Group, and Orbit chief executive Paul Tennant were awarded OBEs.

Other notable recipients included Fiona Alfred, executive director of Women in Property, who was awarded an OBE for services to women in the property and construciton industry.
