The Norwegian Barents Secretariat has announced plans for a cultural centre that it claims will be the world’s tallest wooden building

The structure, which will be 16 or 17 storeys high and made out of recycled materials, has been designed by Reiulf Ramstad Architects. Located in Kirkenes, Norway, the building will include offices, a library, a theatre and art studios. The aim is for the building to serve as an example of sustainable and innovative development for the surrounding region.
