Work to start this summer

Kier has been handed a £97m scheme to build an ambulatory care and diagnostics centre at a Birmingham hospital.

The scheme at Heartlands Hospital (pictured) has been procured through the P22 framework and will involve building a four-storey complex that will run across 18,000 sq m.

It will include 120 consultation rooms, 26 specialist audiology and ear, nose and throat rooms, ultrasound and X-ray rooms, as well as CT and MRI scanners.

Work is due to start this summer and finish in 2022.

Client on the scheme is University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
