Revenue up 4% and sales up 6% at landscaping and garden materials group

Marshalls’ sales and revenue were both up last year – but sales were hit by £5m because of poor weather last month.

Revenue rose 4% to £323m and sales went up 6%. However, the group said the exceptional conditions last month had disrupted its manufacturing in Scotland and the north east of England and its quarrying activities. The estimated impact on profit from the poor weather was £0.8m.

The group said the short-term outlook was positive, with strong order books and order flow.
