Firm to start on luxury apartments in new year

McLaren has been picked to build an £190m mixed-use scheme across the road from the BT Tower in London’s Fitzrovia.

The contractor will build 88 luxury apartments, 35,000ft²of commercial space and 15 affordable homes.

The project is being developed by a consortium comprised of Art-Invest Real Estate UK, German developer ECE and Dukelease Properties.

Erith is currently carrying out demolition and substructure work at the island site, on 101 Cleveland Street, with McLaren due to start early next year.

Architect on the scheme is Assael with other consultants on the job including project manager Avison Young, QS Potter Raper and engineer Walsh Group.

The job is set to be completed in 2021.
