Morgan Est has been tipped to win the £4m project to refurbish the roof at Marylebone station in central London.

The contractor, which is carrying out the work under its "capital projects" division, beat Kier and Osborne to the job.

Work on the 5,000 sq m main train shed roof, which covers six platforms, includes the repair and strengthening of steel structures, the replacement of glazing and the removal of asbestos roof coverings.

The contractor will also strengthen and clean the eastern support wall brickwork and install a crash deck.

Work is scheduled to begin over the next two months and should be completed by December 2010.
