Graham Shennan will head up Morgan Ashhurst and Morgan Est divisions which will operate as Morgan Sindall

Morgan Sindall will merge its Morgan Ashurst construction and Morgan Est infrastructure services business under the name Morgan Sindall.

The new division will be headed up by current Morgan Ashurst managing director Graham Shennan.

Mark Cutler, managing director of Morgan Est will leave the business this week as a result of the restructure.

The company said the decision was taken because both divisions are increasingly working together on large and complex projects in sectors such as rail, aviation and defence.

Building understands a restructure at Morgan Est has been on the cards for some time amid concerns about the quantity of work won by the division.

The new division will sit alongside Morgan Sindall’s three other divisions of fit out (Overbury), affordable housing and urban regeneration which are supported by the Group’s specialist investment unit, Morgan Sindall Investments.

Paul Smith, Morgan Sindall chief executive, said: “I am really excited about the development of this new Morgan Sindall division which will enable the Group to provide a more focused and integrated service to clients and our JV partners.”

Shennan, who joined Morgan Sindall in 2002, is a chartered civil engineer and has senior management experience in construction, civil engineering, plant and design.
