Australian contractor will work with architect Nightingale Associates on the huge Peterborough Hospitals PFI

Multiplex has finalised its deal on the long delayed £339.5 m Peterborough Hospitals PFI. The development will be comprised of three separate buildings: a new 612-bed acute hospital, a 102-bed mental health unit and an integrated care unit.

Architect for the scheme is PFI specialist Nightingale Associates. The huge scheme, which ranks among the biggest PFIs in the country, was given the go ahead by the Department of Health in February following a cost review of all its PFI hospital projects.

Nightingale Associates managing director Richard Harrington said, “It is excellent news for Nightingale Associates, providing the stability we need for a practice of our size.”
