Sou Fujimoto’s cloudlike structure nears completion

Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto’s summer pavilion for London’s Serpentine Gallery is now under construction in Kensington Gardens.

The temporary structure, being built by Stage One, is now around 60% complete, engineer and technical advisor AECOM said.

Fujimoto’s cloud-like structure follows last year’s creation by Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei, Frank Gehry’s 2008 work, the late Oscar Niemeyer’s 2003 structure, and Zaha Hadid’s inaugural pavilion in 2000.
