Building isn't the only one celebrating an anniversary. Central London's Building Centre, which will house the Hall of Fame exhibition from September, turns 75 this year - and has never looked better …

The Building Centre is celebrating 75 years as an independent source of information for building, design and architecture and related products. Originally established for use by architects, it now provides an authoritative reference service and focus of activity, events and seminars for the construction industry.

The refurbished information centre, due to open in July, houses a broad representation of building products used for commercial and domestic specification. The library includes more than 10,000 products including trade names, services and suppliers. Our information services also provide free access to an on-line product directory, Specifinder.com and education resources through various exhibitions, CPD seminars and publications.

The centre continues to showcase innovative construction products embracing all aspects of architecture and construction. A recent initiative has been the introduction of an "Eco Zone", a gallery devoted to showcasing sustainable materials. A new gallery, "Products in Practice", is scheduled for later this year.

Located in central London, the Building Centre provides the venue for a range of functions including seminars, meetings, conferences and product launches. From the autumn, the centre's lower ground floor will also have a new seminar suite capable of accommodating more than 200 delegates.

The centre's research division provides a construction industry market research and information consultancy service. Reports and lists are available to assist in understanding the markets in each sector and the key contacts.

For more than 30 years, the Building Centre bookshop has been dedicated to the latest titles in architecture, design and construction and also holds a stock of building contracts, standards and regulations, all of which are available to our visitors or by mail order.

New London Architecture, a permanent exhibition space presenting buildings, architectural developments and projects currently transforming the face of London is now firmly established at the Building Centre.
