Contractor will upgrade hundreds of homes across five high-rise residential tower blocks

Willmott Dixon has won a £20m contract to retrofit hundreds of homes with energy efficiency improvements across Oxford.

The firm’s energy services division was awarded the contract - which involves refurbishing five high-rise residential blocks - by Oxford City Council.

The blocks were built in the 1960s and are home to over 900 residents in 348 flats. Willmott Dixon will carry out work including structural repairs, cladding, extra insulation, replacement of windows, new heating systems and lift refurbishment.

The project will extend the life of the homes for at least 30 years.
