WYG has bolstered its Manchester office with the acquisition of Higham & Co, a six-strong planning and property consultant.

Higham & Co has 23 years pedigree in planning, with a particular focus on major residential and commercial schemes.

David Lowin, head of planning at WYG, said he was “delighted” to announce the acquisition which he said underlined the firm’s commitment to expand its town planning expertise. He said: “Manchester and the wider North West region will see major growth as we emerge from the recession and the strengthening of our town planning team seeks to meet existing and future clients’ town planning needs as the economy recovers.”

Peter Higham, founder of Higham & Co, said that merging Higham & Co into WYG will create synergies that will benefit the client base of both firms. He said: “I am particularly excited at the prospect of working within a team that includes experts in a wide range of different disciplines including environmental, highways and engineering.”
