Administrators sell Blythewood Plant to specialist auction company

Doyle Group’s plant hire firm, the only part of the business that continued trading after the group was put into administration, has been sold to a specialist auction company.

Administrator Deloitte was called in to the Doyle Group, which includes concrete specialist John Doyle Construction, fit-out contractor Ibex Interiors and plant division Blythewood, last month.

Deloitte closed John Doyle and Ibex after failing to find buyers, leading to the loss of 260 jobs, but kept Blythewood trading in a bid to sell the business.

The administrator has now sold Blythewood to Bridgemere Tractors, which is owned by auction specialist Malcolm Harrison.

The Shropshire-based firm is already advertising a sale of Blythewood plant at an auction in Darlington 21 July.
