Mayor’s office unveils list of 87 consultants and architects for a panel for public sector work across London
The Mayor of London has unveiled a list of architecture, design and regeneration firms that have been pre-approved to bid for around £30m of public sector contracts in the capital.
The mayor’s office said a total of 87 firms have been selected after a competitive process that attracted applications from nearly 400 practices.
Subject to contract, the successful suppliers will be listed on the architecture, design and urbanism panel which will be divided into fourteen categories covering areas such as public realm, transport architecture and environmental design.
The panel will be used for City Hall and Transport for London contracts and is available for use by all public sector organisations in the capital.
The estimated value of the work to be procured through the panel is up to £30m.
Kit Malthouse, deputy mayor for business and enterprise and chair of the Mayor’s Design Advisory Group, said: “This new list of suppliers features a range of both established firms and new young practices of all sizes from across the sector.
“What these organisations have in common is a shared appetite to work in London and help shape it’s future through the provision of world class architectural and design.
“With more than 33 opportunity areas in the capital and a growing population, this much-needed resource will not only deliver more efficient public procurement but equip us with the best people to create vibrant public spaces that will fit with the look and feel of London’s existing building heritage, which is so distinct and admired across the world”.
