The CIBSE’s new online service allows the industry to share knowledge and discuss BIM
I was delighted to see your article Tune in to BIM FM (14 June, page 36).
The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) has launched a freely accessible web resource to help industry bodies and professionals share knowledge and discuss the increasingly important and widely-discussed subject of building information modelling (BIM).
BIMTalk is intended to be a non-partisan accessible resource which signposts users towards existing sources and resources, notably practical content such as case studies. It is an open initiative and is supported by The Building Services Research and Information Association and the Landscape Institute along with contributors such as Arup, Andekan, Balfour Beatty and Hoare Lea.
To see the resource got to www.BIMTalk.co.uk.
We would welcome contributions from the whole industry to inform this initiative further.
Your readers may also be interested to know that the CIBSE BIM Task Group is running its second annual BIM Use Survey. The 5-minute survey will run throughout June 2013 and practitioners are encouraged to complete it at: bit.ly/BIM2013.
