Building Design Partnership has designed this administrative centre for Edinburgh council in the Waverley Valley district, mid-way between Princes Street and the Scottish parliament at Holyrood.
The brief was to demonstrate environmental excellence and sustainability, and the building achieved a BREEAM “very good” rating. The paint chosen for 15,000m2 of the exposed concrete frame of the building was Ecosil by Keim Mineral Paints. The paint is waterborne, solvent and free from volatile organic compounds. It is also resistant to mould and algae and gives off no fumes during or after applications.
