Decorative PVCu panels

Veka has launched VekaStyle, a range of decorative PVCu panels for domestic and commercial interiors. It says they are resistant to abrasion and non-porous surfaces make them work for high-moisture food preparation, or medical areas. The range comes in matt and gloss options. It includes decorative trims for jointing, edging and coving.

High-pressure laminates

Formica has expanded its Solid Surfacing range of high-pressure decorative laminates for interior use. The manufacturer claims the material has a class 0 fire rating. The range is available in two different thicknesses, 12mm for horizontal applications and 6mm for wall cladding and decorative inlays, and is suitable for both residential and commercial applications.

Stone rainscreen cladding

Fischer Fixings has worked with Stancliffe Stone, Watson Stonecraft and LSC to develop a natural stone rainscreen cladding system. It says the PanAsh system is a complete lightweight solution. It comprises a stone outer-leaf, a rail system and stone fixings. Panel sizes range from 450 × 300mm to 750 × 500mm. Stone thicknesses are 35 or 40mm.

Kawneer has supplied its dry-jointed curtain walling, AA603 tilt slide doors, 190 narrow-style doors and AA601 casement windows to the £12m Oldham Library & Lifelong Learning Centre. Architect Pringle Richards Sharratt specified the products because they use the same materials as the first phase of Oldham’s cultural quarter.

Structural frameless glass

Pilkington has introduced a structural frameless glass system called Planar Activ.

It combines self-cleaning glass with silicone-free seals to enable the use of large expanses of glass where access might be a problem. Pilkington says it can be used with its range of glasses to give solar and acoustic control, thermal insulation and security solutions.

Akzo Nobel has launched a range of architectural powder paints for architectural metalwork. Collection Futura 2006-2009 comprises 48 options with a choice of metallic, semi-gloss, matt and gloss finishes. The company says it is suitable for leisure, residential and industrial uses.
