Firm says new roles will report directly to CEO Philip Hoare
Balfour Beatty has rejigged its UK leadership team across its infrastructure businesses.
The firm said that a new UK Defence, Power and Regional Infrastructure division will be led by divisional CEO Nick Crossfield.
It said this business will include UK regional civils, the Scottish construction business, UK buildings and the UK power transmission and distribution business.

Elsewhere, a UK Energy and Major Projects business, which will include its work on Hinkley Point C, will be led by divisional CEO Phil Clifton while the firm is looking for a divisional CEO to lead its UK Transport arm, which includes its road and rail work.
It added that Major alliances and joint ventures – including HS2, Sizewell C and Hong Kong business Gammon – will continue under divisional CEO Steve Tarr.
And the firm has also created with two new roles at executive level – a chief strategy officer and group business services director – and is currently recruiting to fill them.
Balfour said all six roles will report into chief executive Philip Hoare who added: “These changes sharpen our focus on our customers and our core growth markets. By bringing our capabilities together in this way, we are building a more connected, agile business - better placed to deliver critical infrastructure and consistent value for our customers, partners and shareholders.”
Meanwhile, the country’s third biggest contractor Kier has appointed Niki Steel as its new chief human resources officer. She joins from engineering firm IMI, where she has spent the past two years, and will take up her post in August.
