English Heritage’s £330k grant rescues historic Bletchley Park after decades of neglect

Bletchley Park, the building where code-breakers from the Allied forces worked in the Second World War, will be repaired after securing a £330,000 financial lifeline.

The grant - a donation from English Heritage - will fund urgent roof works at the historic UK site. Talks are also under way about a further, three-year, £600,000 programme of works.

The rooms of the grade II listed building are at risk because the roof has been repeatedly patched up rather than properly renovated during its 130-year history. The initial roof works are expected to be complete by March.
