More construction sites signed up to the Considerate Constructors Scheme last month than any other in its ten year history.

Considerate Constructors Scheme

July 2007 saw 623 new sites sign up to the scheme, beating its previous record, set in April, by over 70.

The number represents a 45% increase in registrations from the same month in 2006.

Edward Hardy, general manager of the Scheme, said: “We are delighted with the increase in registrations. The Scheme is now highly regarded within the industry and it has always been our aim that registration should be the accepted norm on all sites in the UK.”

At any one time the Scheme covers approximately 5,000 sites, and represents over 30% of the value of the construction industry.
