Construction firms lambasted for “inhumane” silence at Grenfell Inquiry

Counsel for the victims calls out suppliers for failure to comment

Key firms involved in the refurbishment of Grenfell Tower have been accused of trying to undermine the public inquiry.

Design and build contractor Rydon, architect Studio E, subcontractors and suppliers have all taken a hit for staying silent on the work they had undertaken at Grenfell and whether or not it complied with regulations.

Stephanie Barwise QC, who is representing survivors and the bereaved at the inquiry, said the position being taken by the contractors and designers was potentially detrimental to the inquiry.
