Honeywell has launched the Sundial RF2 wireless heating control packs

The packs are aimed at the 80% of UK homes which lack the minimum controls required by the Building Regulations in new systems – government figures estimate 8.5 million UK homes do not have a thermostat, 6 million of which lack a programmer or timer.

The units connect together wirelessly, avoiding any disruption and damage to decor. The controls are designed to be easy to use, with large displays, and are claimed to provide more accurate temperature control than traditional home controls and to match boiler firing to the load on the system, so the boiler operates more efficiently.

Three packs are available. Pack 1 for space heating systems provides the traditional layout of a wireless-enabled time switch and a separate wireless room thermostat. Pack 2 for systems with space heating and stored hot water has a wireless-enabled programmer and a wireless room thermostat. Pack 3 for systems with space heating and stored hot water has a wireless enabled programmer, wireless room thermostat and wireless cylinder sensor.
