Firm says company on better financial footing after cost-cutting measures of previous year
Income at Grimshaw Architects recovered last year despite workloads in the UK staying flat.
Turnover at in the US, Europe and Australia was all up with the number climbing 100% to nearly £10m while the rises at the US and Europe were both more than 20% to £27.7m and £15m respectively.
But workloads at the UK stayed flat at £17m while the rest of the world, which includes the Middle East and Asia, saw turnover more than halve to £5.7m.

Group turnover for the year to September 2025 was up 9% to £76m with pre-tax profit rising from just under £4m to £5.9m.
In a note accompanying its accounts, the architect said: “Although the market and economic conditions continued to be challenging, the performance for the group improved.
“Although gross profit showed an increase of only £1.2m, operating profit increased by considerably more (£2.1m) due to a focus on efficiency and reflecting the full benefit of cost reductions enacted in the prior financial year.”
The firm, which is working on the new HS2 station at Curzon Street in Birmingham, the redevelopment of Aston Villa’s Villa Park ground and the Eden Project scheme in Morecombe, said the number of staff at the business at the year-end was down 3% to 448 people.
