Contractor to build facilities for the University of Exeter and University College Falmouth

Leadbitter has won a £49m contract to build academic facilities for two universities in Cornwall.

The buildings will be located at the Tremough Campus in Penryn, which is jointly managed by the University of Exeter (UoE) and University College Falmouth (UCF).

Leadbitter will build UoE’s Environment and Sustainability Institute, UCF’s Academy for Innovation & Research and a mixed-use facility called The Exchange that will be used by staff and students from both universities.

Rob Bradley, regional director for Leadbitter’s western construction division, said: “Our team is looking forward to delivering these three exciting projects over the next 18 months and to the students, staff and local businesses benefiting from these fantastic new buildings in 2012.”
