Lovell, a subsidiary of contracting giant Morgan Sindall, has won the contract to build a £63m housing scheme in Lymington Fields in Dagenham.

The 362-home scheme for the Greater London Authority will be built on a 12.6 hectare brownfield site in the borough.

It will include 213 homes for private sale, 104 homes for affordable rent and 45 homes for shared ownership.

The firm said all homes would meet level four of the Code for Sustainable Homes and incorporate solar electricity panels and high efficiency boilers.

John Morgan, chief executive of Morgan Sindall Group, said he was “delighted” with the contract win.

He added:”We have a strong track record working with government to unlock the value and potential of under-utilised public sector land and we are committed to delivering urban renewal in partnership with councils and local authorities.”

Work is scheduled to start at the end of summer 2013 and complete by the end of 2017.
