Cost consultant McBains has rejigged its management with Clive Docwra becoming the firm’s new managing director.

Docwra (pictured), who has been at the firm more than nine years, will become the senior figure at the 145-strong business with chief executive Michael Thirkettle, who was appointed to the role back in 2003, stepping down to a non-exec role at the company.

Last October, German investor RSBG, which was set up 10 years ago and is based in the Ruhr city of Essen, snapped up the firm for an undisclosed sum.

The changes will also see Mark Leeson, currently director of design, become operations director while current commercial director Gareth Hird will have his brief extended to a wider role in the RSBG group which owns Pell Frischmann.

The firm, which had a turnover of £14.5m last year and also carries out project management and engineering work, is working on a string of high-profile schemes in the capital including the Battersea Power Station redevelopment (below) and the Silvertown Reach residential scheme in east London.
