Cathy Travers to lead more than 7,500 staff

Mott MacDonald has appointed company veteran Cathy Travers as managing director of its UK and Europe regional business.

Succeeding James Harris, who has become the group managing director, Travers (pictured) will be responsible for more than 7,500 staff and revenue of more than £824m.

Harris moved into the managing director role after Mike Haigh was bumped up to chairman in June. Haigh replaced company veteran Keith Howells in the role.

Most recently Travers was managing director of the consultant’s buildings and infrastructure business in the UK and Europe which covers more than 30 offices and 1,800 staff.

Before this, she was development director for Mott MacDonald’s UK and Europe region

Travers began her career with Husband and Company, which was bought by Mott MacDonald in 1990.
