Indoor surfing facility to star in £10m revamp of water sports centre at Holme Pierrepoint

The £10m renovation of a water sports centre near Nottingham that will house the UK's first indoor surfing machine has been announced.

Holme Pierrepont National Water Sports Centre at West Bridgford faced closure in May last year when Sport England, which rents the site from Nottinghamshire County Council, said it had no plans to renew its lease in April next year.

The announcement of the renovation follows 16 months of speculation. The local authority will now take over control of the national water sports centre, which is sited just outside Nottingham in 110ha of parkland.
