Parent company of Graham Construction breaks £500m revenue barrier

The John Graham group of companies has more than doubled profit and broken the £500m revenue barrier.

The group - which includes contractor Graham Construction - more than doubled pre-tax profit to £16.9m for the year to March 2016, up from £6.9m. Revenue hit £507.9m, up from £491.1m.

Graham Construction was boosted by the Northern Ireland-based firm consolidating its expansion into England from its home country and Scotland, as well as realising greater efficiencies.

In accounts filed at Companies House, John Graham also said its smaller asset management and investments businesses were also performing well.

Group finance director Courtney McCormick said: “Overall our group businesses continue to deliver robust performances in a market that shows strong signs of growth with investment a key focus area for both the public and private sector.”

Earlier this month Graham Construction won a £20m job to restore and extend Lincoln’s Inn’s Grade II* listed Great Hall and Library (pictured) in Holborn, central London.
