Randle Siddeley and Hamiltons Architects submit design for giant steps at stadium entrance

Quintain Estates and Development has submitted a planning application to create dramatic new Olympic Steps at the main entrance to Wembley Stadium. The application to Brent Council has followed months of discussion with key partners.

The Olympic Steps, designed by Randle Siddeley Associates working with Hamiltons Architects to a masterplan prepared by the Richard Rogers Partnership, will be one of the largest pieces of privately funded public spaces in the UK.

Spanning 66m at their widest point, the steps are wider than those at Trafalgar Square and larger than those at Capitol Hill in Washington DC or the Spanish Steps in Rome.
