Floor underlays

Developed for laminate, solid wood and engineered timber floors in domestic and commercial applications, the underlay comprises three layers. The floor-side lamination is a 100 micron low-density polyethylene black vapour control barrier and the top lamination is a gold foil facing that extends to form a 200mm overlap, on both sides. This is to avoid acoustic bridging and to facilitate continuity in installation. Sandwiched between these layers is Novostrat’s high-density polyethylene foam which provides the product’s sound absorption and impact-resistance qualities. It also helps even out imperfections in the deck on to which the floor is laid.
