Tapered rigid roof insulation from Kingspan Insulation has been used in the renovation of a primary care centre in Washington, Tyne and Wear

The Thermataper TT47 rigid PIR tapered roof insulation system was used to create a fall on the concrete roof deck that was specified to accommodate the potential for expanding the building by a further storey in the future. Rather than screeding the concrete deck to create a fall that might eventually need to be removed, it was decided to use the tapering insulation.

The Thermataper range has been designed to ensure low heat loss through the roof as well as to prevent the formation of water ponding by providing roof falls for new and existing flat roofs. The TT47 tapered system used for the Washington Primary Care Centre has been designed specifically for use under PVCu single-ply mechanically fixed waterproofing systems and will provide a roof fall of 1:80.
