Contractor will build residential element of Crown Estate’s £450m central London scheme

Crown Estate plans for St James's Market

Bouygues has been appointed main contractor on a £15m residential phase of the Crown Estate’s £450m St James’s Market scheme in central London.

Bouygues will redevelop 29-30 St James’s Street and 25-27 Bury Street into 17 homes.

The news comes after Balfour Beatty won an £87m contract to build a commercial and retail phase of the project last September.

Separately, the Crown Estate also agreed a deal with Network Housing Group for a 17-home scheme at Grosvenor Road in Pimlico.

Alastair Smart, head of development at The Crown Estate said: “These announcements demonstrate that all the elements of our St James’s Market scheme are continuing to make good progress.”
