Croydon council officials frown on architect’s application for Menta's £500m Cherry Orchard Road regeneration scheme

Officials at Croydon council have recommended permission be refused for architect Make’s £500m Cherry Orchard Road regeneration scheme for developer Menta.

The plan, which envisages the construction of four towers of up to 35 storeys on the site to the east of the train station, was due to be considered by councillors this week after Building went to press.

Craig Marks at Menta said he was “surprised and disappointed” at the decision. He said: “We now need to give very careful consideration to the reasons given by the council for its failure to support the application at this late stage, before we determine how to take things forward.”
