Countryside and Hill awarded first phase of mammoth North West Cambridge scheme
The University of Cambridge has awarded the first 400-home phase of market housing on its huge North West Cambridge scheme to Countryside and Hill.
All 400 market homes – alongside 700 homes for university key workers in the first phase – will be designed to meet the code for sustainable homes level five.
Countryside worked on its proposed designs with Proctor and Matthews (right, top two), while Hill worked on its proposed designs with Alison Brooks Architects (right, third from top) and Pollard Thomas Edwards (right, bottom).
Brian Nearney, commercial director of the North West Cambridge Development said: “Our partnerships with Countryside and Hill mark another major chapter in development.
Both developers have demonstrated to the University that they will create new homes that will meet our objectives of sustainable living and exemplar design.”
