Improvements at Hawbush Primary School will see new single-storey classrooms and the refurbishment of existing facilities

ISG has won a £3.5m contract to remodel Hawbush Primary School in Dudley.

The scheme for Dudley Council would see the modernisation of the existing school including a partial rebuild, and demolition and refurbishment of existing buildings.

There would be two new single-story structures providing six classrooms.

ISG will build a new entrance and is planning to remodel existing accommodation to improve circulation space and provide new teaching spaces.

The scheme is aiming for a very good BREEAM rating, and will include a green sedum roof, photovoltaic cells, sun pipes and a biomass boiler.

The school will remain open during the work, which is scheduled to start in early September and complete in February 2012.

Remodelling Education Spaces takes place at the University of Manchester on 13 - 14 September
