At the ceremony Dan Labbad, chief executive of Lend Lease Europe, the construction and development manager, said he was looking to renegotiate materials contracts to reflect recent falls in prices. The scheme will have 17,000 beds in 11 residential blocks during the Games and be converted into 2,818 homes afterwards. Plans also include 10ha of parklands and the 18,00-place Chobham Academy. Lend Lease is looking for sites on which to replicate the scheme across the UK.
