EC Harris named on €1bn Transylvanian tractor transformation

EC Harris has been appointed cost consultant on the €1bn redevelopment of a former tractor factory in Transylvania being masterplanned by YRM.

The 123ha Tractorul regeneration project in Brasov, Romania, covers one-eighth of the city's area and is situated on what was formerly one of the world's largest tractor manufacturing sites.

Buro Happold and Norman Disney & Young are engineers on the scheme, which is being carried out for Centerra Capital Partners.

YRM was selected as masterplanner and lead consultant in February from a list that included UK firms Aukett Fitzroy Robinson and Squires, German practice Gerkan Mark & Partners and Netherlands firm D Architekten.

YRM is also working on schemes in Bucharest, Cluj, Baia Mare, Iasi, Sofia and Belgrade.

Brasov is a historic city with a population of 350,000, located among the Carpathian Mountains.
