Contract rows expected to jump in wake of pandemic

Gleeds has launched a new dispute advisory business to handle anticipated contractual issues because of the covid-19 pandemic.

The new international dispute advisory group is made up of a collection of specialists, including arbitrators, mediators, adjudicators, and expert witnesses.

Gleeds said the new division will operate globally

The group’s services will include dispute avoidance, dispute resolution, schedule and quantum analyses, strategic procurement and contract advice, as well as expert witness work.

Chris Soffe, a member of Gleeds’ main supervisory board, is responsible for launching the new business.

Gleeds intends to run the business out of offices that span Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

Earlier this week, Building revealed Gleeds wants to double turnover and staff numbers over the next four years.

The target is to increase to £400m by the end of 2024 with staff numbers during the period jumping to 4,000.
