Architect Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners oversee French airport expansion
Architect Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners has been appointed to oversee a major expansion of Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport in France.
The practice will design the Future Terminal 1 project, a new 70,000m2 terminal, which will double the size of the airport.
The practice’s circular design proposal aims not to detract from the adjacent TGV train station by architect Santiago Calatrava and will feature a “spacious and clearly defined” entrance, a hanging garden and large shopping area at the centre.
